Project Description

We conducted an analysis of the availability and demand for out-of-school, or after school, and summer care. Our analysis was based on a comprehensive survey of families with children to understand the types of care they use. We also surveyed providers of all types, and built a model that compared supply and demand at the regional and statewide level.

Year: 2005

FUN FACT

Utahns view out-of-school youth programs to be a private and public responsibility. More than 40 percent of parents with school-age children thought that public elementary schools should be providing out-of-school care programs.
