Project Description

The City of Bishop, nestled between the Sierra Nevada and the White Mountains in eastern California, is an outdoor recreation destination. Like many rural areas, the region has had to contend with unpredictable economic challenges, beginning with the loss of much of the valley’s farmland and water rights. Our economic development plan helped identify policy priorities and develop a cohesive implementation strategy. The success of the plan was largely due to the committed involvement of residents, business owners, and working groups.
